Chris first came to Rotorua in the late 70’s with the Forest Service and married a country girl from Te Whaiti then training as a nurse at Rotorua Hospital. It took 11 years for them to work their way up the farming ladder to eventually returning and purchasing their dairy farm at Rerewhakaaitu where they have farmed for the past years. At present the farm is managed by a sharemilker allowing both Chris and Rosemary to pursue other interests including keeping in touch with their two adult children in Western Australia.

For over a decade now Chris has served the farming community by holding various positions ensuring a better lot for those on the land. More recently Chris is the Chairman of the Vet Club with clinics in Rotorua, Ngongotaha and Reporoa. Also his past involvement working with farmers and his views as an environmentalist, has seen him take become the spokesperson for “Project Rerewhakaaitu” a farmer lead initiative using science and farmer know-how to address environmental challenges in the Lake Rerewhakaaitu catchment. This has lead to Chris being appointed to the Land Use Futures Board.

It’s this passion and desire to achieve win-win outcomes for farmers and rural folk that is Chris’s strength when dealing with rural real estate matters. His 3 core values are Integrity, Passion and Team work.
